On Monday, March 20, the Park Forest Police responded to the report of a man wearing only boots and a skull cap, but otherwise naked, who battered a woman in a sexual manner while she was walking near Shabbona Park. Police issued a community alert, putting residents on notice of the attack. After an investigation by the Park Forest Police Department Investigations Unit, 34-year-old Marc Greska of Oak Forest, and previously of Park Forest, was taken into custody.
A bond hearing was held March 29 at the Will County Courthouse. Greska was also charged with one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct for an incident on March 26, where he was seen in the same area wearing only boots and a hat, but otherwise naked. He did not confront anyone in that incident.
Greska was ruled out as a suspect in two incidents where women were battered near Winnebago Park during the same week. The investigation into those incidents, for which a composite sketch has previously been released, continues. Residents are asked to remain alert and to contact police immediately should they see or hear anything suspicious.
The Park Forest Police Department would like to thank the public for their tips and information, which greatly assists in these investigations.
