Many residents have contacted the Village about the need for more communication regarding the boil order advisory in Lincolnwood that went into effect on Monday, March 20, 2023, and is expected to remain in place through Friday, March 24, 2023, and said the Village should have done more to alert people.
The Village agrees and wants to apologize for not doing more to reach out to residents about this issue. The Village can contact residents about immediate emergencies in three primary ways: the Village's official Facebook page, the Village's website, and the Code Red System.
Residents are encouraged to set their alerts on Facebook to receive notifications from the Village when posts are made. Residents should also sign up for the Code Red system by clicking this link.
In April, the Department of Public Works will start this project's second and final phase of connecting the water tower to the water plant. There is yet to be a specified date and time when Phase 2 will start; however, now the Village wants to do its due diligence and alert residents that some may experience low water pressure and/or no water at all - especially on the north end of town. This is because most of the water towers are located in the center and south ends of the Village.
Please follow the Village's Facebook page, monitor the Village's website, and sign up for Code Red for updates on the boil order advisory.
