It's that time of year again! The Sustainability Office is seeking volunteers for the Annual Park Forest Community Clean Up on Saturday, April 1.
Sustainability Coordinator Carrie Malfeo is calling on residents to participate in this year's event, which will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
"We're going to meet at Agape Bible Fellowship Church, which is at 220 Monee Road," Malfeo said. "This year, we're tackling litter on Tamarack Street."
Malfeo says volunteers could sign up by clicking here and adds this is a perfect opportunity for people to meet their service hours goals. She also reminds residents to dress for the weather and bring gloves if they have them.
Last year, 28 people volunteered and helped collect 51 bags of garbage. Malfeo says she would like to see more residents come out to help clean up the Village.
"Our goal this year is 30 volunteers. It is a great opportunity to meet someone else in your community and enjoy the spring air," Malfeo said. "The long-term goal is that no litter needs to be picked up."
