The Park Forest Bark District at Winnebago Park is closing due to maintenance beginning Wednesday, Aug 2.
The Department of Recreation, Parks and Community Health Director Kevin Adams said crews are laying down new asphalt for the walking path leading to Winnebago Park's front entrance.
Adams also noted that the south fence, which includes the entrance to the facility, will be replaced.
The project is expected to last about a week, with a reopening set for Wednesday, Aug. 9. Signage will alert residents of the closure. Adams said that although a temporary inconvenience, residents are likely to enjoy the improvements.
"We thank you for your patience and consideration during this time," Adams said. "[We] hope you like the new look when the park reopens."
