The Village of Park Forest, in collaboration with the Park Forest Environment Commission, University of Illinois Extension, Thorn Creek Nature Center and the Park Forest Garden Club, present a series of lectures for both beginners and avid gardeners. The series runs from January through October. Below are the programs to look forward to this upcoming season.
January 18

Do you have gardening skills that could be shared with your neighbors? Would you like to beautify a vacant lot in your neighborhood by adding a vegetable or perennial garden? If so, please attend this session to learn about the incentives Park Forest has to strengthen and expand their community gardening program.
February 15
Seed Starting

Many vegetables, flowers and herbs will not grow and flower in our northern climate unless they are given a head start because our summers just aren’t long enough. Learn how to start seeds like a pro.

Veggie Gardening Success

What to plant when? Raised bed or in ground gardening? Come learn watering and plant nutrition tips along with soil testing and much more! Great for both beginners and avid gardeners.
All programs will be held at Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on the third Saturday of the month.
