The Park Forest Commission on Human Relations will host its annual Jazz & Wine event, which will take place at Dining on the Green next Friday, March 14, at 7 p.m.
Saxophonist Harold Dawson will open the evening. Chicago native Carla Parther, a jazz artist known for her "soulful" performances and "dynamic" stage presence, will headline this year's social gathering. Parther has shared the stage with artists such as Roy Ayers, Common, Amel Larrieux, Marsha Ambrosius, Al B. Sure, Jon B., El DeBarge, Erykah Badu, Christopher Williams, KRS-One, and many others.
Community Relations Manager Evelyn Randle encourages residents to attend this event and enjoy the evening.
"The Commission on Human Relations is always seeking ways to engage and connect with our community," Randle stated. "With spring just around the corner and the promise of warmer days ahead, this event presents a wonderful opportunity for people to relax, savor light refreshments, and enjoy exquisite wine while serenading by fantastic music."
Randle highlighted that Poppin' Plates, located in DownTown Park Forest, will provide light refreshments to complement the evening. Additionally, Vintrendi will supply attendees with a selection of fine wines. Randle hopes this gathering will foster a strong sense of community among residents.
"It feels like this year has already been long, and we are only three months into it," Randle remarked. "The Jazz & Wine event is designed to create a space where people can come together, unwind, and celebrate in good company."
Tickets for the event are still available for $25. Residents can purchase tickets on Eventbrite or by contacting Randle at 708-283-5621.
