Generally, the Village of Park Forest was built with copper water lines from the street to developments like single family and multi-family homes. To make sure all service lines in Park Forest are compliant, the Village is complying with an EPA mandate to survey each connection in order to ensure no lead service lines exist.
To complete this survey, the Village is partnering with Team Members from AmeriCorps NCCC to inspect water service lines throughout the Village. Throughout the months of July and August, team members with well marked NCCC identification will be going door to door attempting to complete these inspections. Members from NCCC will ask to look at the water meter inside your home and take a photograph of the pipe material. The process should last no longer than 15 minutes. In order to complete this survey in an efficient and timely manner, the Village has been divided into different areas and the entire Village will not be inspected at the same time.
