Occupancy Permits

In order for the Fire Department to recommend that Building Services issue an occupancy permit, the following items must be completed prior to scheduling a final Fire Alarm/Fire Protection System inspection (Review Flyer):

* Exit and exit directional lights are installed over each door and functioning properly.

* Emergency lights must be installed and functioning properly.

* Fire extinguishers must be mounted and properly serviced and tagged with the

current year.

* The address, including suite number (if applicable) shall be displayed on the front/rear

door (minimum of 6 inches).

* If applicable, plans for the Fire Alarm System(s) shall have been submitted and

approved in accordance with the Village of Park Forest requirements.

* If applicable, plans for Fire Protection System (s) shall have been submitted and

approved in accordance with the Village of Park Forest requirements.

* Fire Alarm Systems and Fire Protection Systems shall be monitored and tested in

accordance with Village of Park Forest requirements.

* The hood/duct system must be serviced and tagged every six months and a functional

test will be required.

* A Knox Box shall be installed and keys available to be locked inside by the Fire

Inspector at the time of the final inspection.

* Fire lanes shall be properly identified and marked in accordance with Village of Park

Forest requirements.

* Alarm Systems shall be registered in accordance with Village of Park Forest

requirements.
