The Abandoned Newborn Infant Protection Act specifies that anyone relinquishing an unharmed newborn to a designated safe haven in Illinois -- hospitals, emergency care facilities, staffed fire stations, or police stations -- be offered an information packet containing the following documents:
- Help is Here Pamphlet
- Illinois Has Put the Option Back in Adoption Pamphlet
- Taking Care of Yourself After Giving Birth Pamphlet
Please note that this packet may or may not be accepted by the relinquishing parent.
