Plant Chicago

On March 18, Local Circular Economy for Small Business was the webinar topic covered during our Business Educational Series presented by Plant Chicago.

Cultivating local circular economies is an effective way for businesses to work together to solve some of the greatest challenges of our era. Plant Chicago went through the tangible steps your business can take today to become more sustainable and cultivate the local circular economy in our own community!

The presentation covered:

  • Circular Economy 101
  • Circular Economy Practices for Businesses
  • Your Stuff (inputs, packaging, supply chain, & waste)
    • Your People
    • Your Networks

There was a great Q&A session with Plant Chicago conducted at the end of the presentation.

WHAT IS A LOCAL CIRCULAR ECONOMY?

A local circular economy is a collaborative practice sustained by the local circulation of materials, nutrients, knowledge, and economic value. Values of equity, transparency, diversity, and inclusion define its success.  In a local circular economy, business activities should regenerate natural ecosystems, minimize waste, and strive to make sure that economic and social benefits are distributed equitably.
