If you're in need of an event space, the Village of Park Forest offers a variety of rental venues designed to accommodate everything from meetings and workshops to celebrations and large-scale gatherings.
Through its Recreation, Parks and Community Health Department, the Village provides indoor rental spaces at Village Hall and the Recreation Center located within the Michelle Obama School of Technology & Arts. In addition, the Village offers Dining on the Green, a centrally located indoor venue in DownTown Park Forest that is well-suited for larger and more formal events.
One of the most frequently used spaces is the multipurpose room in the lower level of Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive. The room rents for $60 per hour, accommodates up to 72 people and includes tables, chairs, and access to a full-sized kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, and sink. The space is available Saturdays from 1 to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., making it ideal for meetings, workshops, social events, and private celebrations.
For larger gatherings, the Recreation Center at 215 Wilson St. offers both a gymnasium and a recreation room. The gymnasium rents for $60 per hour and can host up to 150 people, featuring a full-sized basketball court and bleachers suitable for sports activities, fitness programs, and large events. The recreation room rents for $55 per hour and accommodates up to 75 people, with fold-up lunch tables, a small kitchen area, arcade games, and two pool tables. Both spaces may be rented together for $90 per hour.
Dining on the Green offers a versatile indoor setting for meetings, weddings, banquets, family reunions, and other special occasions. The venue accommodates up to 200 people and features a dance floor, along with views of the Village Green, including its gazebo, sculptures, and landscaped grounds. Free parking is available in surrounding lots, with space for more than 300 vehicles. Potential renters also have the option of renting out the outside area, as well.
All facility rentals require a reservation. Dining on the Green availability and reservation requests can be confirmed through the Village’s website, by going to the links provided or coordinated by Community Relations Manager, Evelyn Randle, by calling 708.283.5621, or emailing erandle@vopf.com. In addition to these venues, rental spaces are available for rent at the Park Forest Tennis and Health Club and at Freedom Hall. Residents should call those facilities for more information regarding rates and times.
Village officials say the rental program reflects Park Forest’s commitment to providing accessible, high-quality spaces that support community connection and engagement.
