ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & PLANNING DEPARTMENT

Economic Development staff and the Village Board are dedicated to retaining and attracting businesses to the Village.  An experienced economic development team is ready to assist companies and developers with all aspects of project coordination, from site selection and planning, incentive review and application, to project completion. 

Several commercial areas provide exposure and site options for the retail or service business to locate in the perfect atmosphere.  Strip malls and free-standing commercial areas are located on Sauk Trail and Western Avenue, while several neighborhood commercial districts are scattered throughout the community. 

A few years ago, the Village acquired the major commercial district in the center of town and redeveloped the entire area into a traditional downtown atmosphere.  In addition to municipal offices being located in the downtown, all Village-sponsored events are located on the Village Green in the downtown.

A variety of economic incentives are available to a business relocating to or expanding in Park Forest .  Economic development staff will work with you to customize an incentive package that works for you.
