NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Park Forest Cook and Will Counties, Illinois, that the sealed bids will be received for the following improvement(s):
FISCAL 2018 MULTI-USE PATH IMPROVEMENTS
Said bids will be received up to the hour of 2 p.m. Central Standard Time, on the 9th day of May 2017, at the office of the Director of Public Works, Village of Park Forest, 350 Victory Drive, Park Forest, Illinois and will be publicly opened and read at that time. The bidding forms and documents are available at the office of at the office of the Director of Public Works, Village of Park Forest, 350 Victory Drive, Park Forest, Illinois, upon payment of the sum of Seventy-Five DOLLARS ($75.00) which is not refundable. Plans and specifications are also available to view for free at the Village website, www.vopf.com under “Bids and RFPs” link. Contractors shall contact the Department of Public Works, (708) 503-7702, to obtain the password.
This work consists of: All mobilization, excavation, material, labor, equipment and incidentals necessary for the removal of approximately 1,000 s.y. existing sidewalk path traversing in between residential properties and replacement with 2,000 s.y. of asphalt path, with concrete ADA ramps, earthwork, signage, erosion control, and traffic control needed to complete the project. Quantities total 5 separate locations throughout the Village.
The engineer has been authorized to refuse to issue plans, specifications and proposals to any person, firm or corporation that he or she considers to be unqualified. Proposals must be submitted on the forms provided. All proposals or bids offered must be accompanied by a bid bond, cash, or certified check made payable to the Village in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the proposal as a guarantee that if the proposal is accepted a contract will be entered into and the performance of the contract is properly secured. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of the proposals without the consent of the Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Park Forest for a period of 45 days after the scheduled time of closing bids.
The bidder is specifically advised that the Village is a Subrecipient of the County of Cook of a grant pursuant to the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, pursuant to an agreement entered into between the County of Cook and the Village. Payments to the contractor will be made by the Village only after it has received the funds to make such payment from the County of Cook in accordance with the terms of the aforesaid agreement. Further, in compliance with the Stevens Amendment to the Department of Defense Appropriations Act of 1989, the estimated percentage of the total cost of this Project to be funded with federal dollars is 80% and the exact dollar amount of federal funds which will be set aside for this project will be based on the contract amount awarded under this offering.
