The Park Forest Police Department is reminding residents that tickets may be issued for parking on village streets after two inches of snowfall.
In a post made to their Facebook page, police officials said:
Friends, we don't want to ticket, but the fine men and women of the Department of Public Works are finding challenges in keeping our streets clear due to parking on snow routes. As we have had well above 2 inches of snowfall, there is no parking on snow routes. This allows DPW crews to keep our roads clear for emergency response and essential travel.
Let's all work together to keep our roads passable and remove any vehicles from snow routes immediately.
Parking restrictions remain in effect until a storm event and accumulation of snow and/or ice has been removed from roadways.
