Village of Park Forest - Parks & Playgrounds Phase 4 – Restore Illinois Plan

Central Park Pavilion 2016

PARKS MAINTENANCE

During the COVID-19 health crisis, the Department of Recreation, Parks & Community Health has continued serving the community while remaining fiscally responsible by reducing expenses and managing resources. This has included a reduction in staff hours and seasonal staffing. With reduced manpower, our priorities for parks and playgrounds have focused on keeping parks available to the public by mowing open spaces and by addressing safety concerns with cautionary measures such as keeping playgrounds and public washrooms closed.

As the state moves into Phase 4, washrooms and pavilions will re-open but our priorities for park maintenance will remain at a cautionary level.  While not an ideal situation, we are committed to providing as safe and enjoyable a recreation experience for residents as possible.

To report safety or maintenance concerns please call 708-748-2005.
