The following is an important message from the Village of Park Forest: A peaceful protest is planned this afternoon, beginning at 4 p.m., in Chicago Heights. Traffic issues should be anticipated in the area of Lincoln Highway and Western Avenue. Residents should avoid the area, if possible, if not participating in the event. The Park Forest Police Department is in contact with the Chicago Heights Police Department and other agencies who will ensure the safety of those participating in the peaceful protest and of the neighboring communities.
