Police issue community alert following reported paintball attacks

Community Alert

Park Forest Police today released the following community alert after reports of numerous paintball attacks in the Village.

In the evening hours of Wednesday, September 26, and the morning hours of Thursday, September 27, there were several incidents in which paintballs were shot from vehicles traveling through Park Forest.

These paint balls struck residents, vehicles, and houses. The morning incidents occurred while students were traveling to school. The descriptions of the offending vehicles vary, but include a newer silver or white minivan and a tan or gold SUV, possibly a BMW. The incidents occurred in the Eastgate area, Lincolnwood area, and the area just south of Sauk Trail. Extra patrols are ongoing in an attempt to identify and arrest the offenders.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents or who may have images or surveillance video capturing any suspicious vehicles is urged to call the Park Forest Police Department at 708-748-4701. Additionally, police urge all residents to be aware of their surroundings and call police if they see any suspicious activity.
