2022 Street and Water Main Replacements

Replacement of water main and street resurfacing within the Village of Park Forest is partially financed by the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (SRF). The SRF program is administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and receives a portion of its money to fund these types of projects from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This project includes the replacement of water main and resurfacing of approximately 2.7 miles of streets as follows: Antietam, Arrowhead, Apache, Washington (Wilshire to Westgate), Washington Court, Windsor, Lester (Sauk to Indianwood), Apple, Nassau, Monee (Blackhawk to Orchard), and Monee Court. Once complete, it will improve water quality for area residents by reducing water main breaks and improving flow and pressure. SRF programs operate in each state to provide communities the resources necessary to build, maintain, and improve the infrastructure that protects one of our most valuable resources: water

Construction to Begin

Posted on May 25, 2022 at 10:18 AM by Nick Christie

The Park Forest Public Works Department would like to notify you of scheduled construction work on several streets throughout the Community that will begin within two weeks, though not all locations will begin at the same time. Due to the frequency of water main breaks, the entire water main will be replaced; along with drainage improvements; curb and driveway apron replacements (as required); and road resurfacing on the following streets:

  1. Antietam
  2. Windsor
  3. Washington and Washington Court (Wilshire to Westgate)
  4. Nassau
  5. Apple
  6. Lester
  7. Monee and Monee Court (Orchard to Blackhawk)
  8. Arrowhead
  9. Apache

This project will take place during working hours, Monday-Saturday, 7am-6pm and is expected to last approximately 6 months.  Residences should expect common construction inconveniences such as traffic congestion, dust, noise, heavy equipment, temporary restricted access to driveways, and water service disruptions. There will also be on street parking restrictions posted during construction.
