Community Cleanup: April 1st, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
- Sign up by clicking here
- Meet at Agape Bible Fellowship Church parking lot at 220 Monee Rd, Park Forest
- Clean up area is Tamarack Street
- Grab some gloves, dress for the weather, and help give Park Forest a spring cleaning!
- We are collaborating with Chicago Southland communities on a community-wide cleanup.
Garden Plastic Pots & Trays Recycling Collection: April 1 - June 16
Do you have a lot of plastic pots and trays from planting your garden this year?
Please note: They can't be recycled in your curbside recycling bin but you don't need to send them away to the landfill forever.
Give them new life! Recycle them in the collection box at Village Hall!
Garden Talk for Beginners: April 2, 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.
Environment Commissioner, Joanna Tassin, will share some tips and tricks for beginner gardens to feel confident in their first steps. Join Facebook Live for this educational chat.

Bike the Preserves: Sauk Trail Woods April 8, 7:30 a.m.
Join a guided bike ride around Sauk Trail Woods. The ride will be approximately 5 miles. Bring your own bike and helmet. Sponsored by the Forest Preserves of Cook County.

Community Solar Q & A and Sign-up Event in the Village Hall Board Room: April 8, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Come learn if you are income-eligible for this state-funded program that could save you 50% off the supply portion of your ComEd bill. The majority of Park Forest residents will qualify. $100 sign-up gift card and a $100 donation to Park Forest for sustainability projects. Promoted by the Village of Park Forest in partnership with Solstice and Buy Commercial Energy.

"How to Make your Home Sustainable" Talk: April 15th, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Join us for a lively presentation by Environment Commissioner, Jim Saxton, on the impactful steps to make your home sustainable. He will also cover the criteria that could earn you a Katie Armstrong Sustainability Award.

Bird Sit- Earth Day: April 22nd, 8 a.m.
Bring your coffee and join us for a bird sit. Staying in one spot, we'll see which birds come to us. Limited supply of binoculars available to borrow.

Annual Southland Local Food Systems Expo: April 22nd, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Come out for an afternoon of food, fun and tons of information! The Southland Local Food System Expo bring together, eaters, farmers, ranchers and more for a day of connections, opportunities and presentations to begin laying the foundation for a sovereign local food system here in the southland! Learn how communities can come together to create positive change lessening burdens on the environment and our health! SNAP/Link are accepted by several farmers.

We will be touring the ground solar array at the Water Treatment Plant, stopping by the Central Park Wetlands and a community garden.

Park Forest Garden Club will be handing out tree seedlings for Arbor Day while supplies last.
