Trip Information 

•Recreation & Parks Department will need name, date of birth, address, phone number, and emergency number of each person registering for a trip. 

•Before participating in any program or event sponsored by the Recreation & Parks Department a waiver must be signed by the participant or responsible parent/guardian.  

•Trip return times are approximate and may change due to unforeseen circumstances and traffic.

•In the event of low enrollment, a luxury passenger van may be substituted for a motor coach bus.

•Refunds - Refunds for trips may vary due to non-refundable tickets or fees. Refund requests made prior to the trip deadline date will be given less a 5% refund fee. Cancellations made by Recreation & Parks are not subject to the 5% refund fee. Online registration fees are non-refundable. Please note: Refunds for purchases made by credit card are processed back to the credit card. Refunds for purchases made by cash or check are processed with a check (within ten business days) through the Village of Park Forest Finance Department.

Diamond Tours and Mayflower Tours Refund Policy:  Please refer to their refund policy.  Travel insurance is available for purchase for an additional fee. 

•Nothing kills a good trip quicker than waiting until the last minute to register! Please sign up early or the trip that you want may have to be cancelled.

Credit/debit card transactions are processed through Active Network, LLC.  Active Network, LLC will appear on your credit card/bank statement for your trip purchase; rather than Village of Park Forest, Recreation & Parks.

Chicago Holiday Lights Tour
Our specially designed tour starts around the John Hancock Center’s spectacular tree at the top of the Magnificent Mile. Our deluxe motor coach will make three stops to let you hop off and explore the magic of Chicago’s lights and sights. First, we will whisk down State Street to glimpse Macy's Holiday Windows and through the Loop to Chicago’s famous Christkindlmarket where Daley Plaza becomes an old German village filled with quaint shops and holiday treats where you will have 1 1/2 hours to buy unique gifts and treats for your family and friends. Next, we will make our way over the river and up to Zoo Lights, where Lincoln Park transforms into a brilliant array of lights, music, and crafts for the whole family. Finally, we will travel North Michigan Avenue for a 1-hour stop at Millennium Park to view the city Christmas tree, the skating rink and the Bean.

Miracle on 34th Street
From Meredith Willson, composer of The Music Man, and inspired by the beloved 1947 film, audiences will enjoy the gift of music and laughter for the holidays. After Santa encounters a skeptical little girl during the season of sharing and caring, a message about the importance of believing is made clear to all. “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” became famous as one the memorable songs in this joyous favorite for all ages. Lunch and show is at Theatre at the Center, Munster, Indiana.

Menu:  Cream of Potato Soup with cheese garnish. Choice of Roast Sirloin of Beef or Shrimp Skewer with duchess potatoes, broccoli spears and carrot cake for dessert.  Please mention meal choice when registering.

Wizard of Oz the Musical
Join us at Paramount Theatre in Aurora for the Wizard of Oz, the Musical. You may have been to Oz before, but never like this… Stuck on a Kansas farm with her aunt, uncle and dog Toto, Dorothy Gale wishes for a better and more exciting life. When a twister hits, Dorothy is whisked away to the wonderful world of Oz, a fantastical place full of munchkins, a cowardly lion, a tin man with no heart, a living scarecrow … and a wicked witch that will do whatever it takes to stop Dorothy. Seating will be on the Main floor, center stage.

The Woman in Black 
Join us for “The Woman in Black,” a show that has toured the world and played in London’s West End for more than 30 years is finally hitting the main stage at Chicago's Royal George Theatre.

Susan Hill's Gothic ghost story, adapted for the stage by Stephen Mallatratt, is set in an isolated windswept mansion with tragic secrets hidden behind its shuttered windows. There, a young lawyer encounters horrific visions in the house set amidst the eerie marshes and howling winds of England's forbidding Northeast Coast. With just two actors, The Woman in Black offers audiences an afternoon of unremitting drama and sheer theatricality as they are transported into a chilling and ghostly world.

Friends the Musical ParodyFriends! The Musical Parody
Join us at the Broadway Playhouse Theater for FRIENDS!  The  Musical Parody is the comedic musical that lovingly pokes fun at TV’s Friends, celebrating the adventures  of your favorite group of 20-something friends as they navigate the pitfalls of work, life, and love in 1990s Manhattan.

It’s a typical day at New York’s only coffee shop,  Central Perk, until an unexpected runaway bride enters the picture and kicks the whole gang out of second gear!  The new musical recreates our favorite moments from all 10 years of Friends through an uncensored, fast-paced, music-filled room.

The ProducersThe Producers the Musical
Under the right circumstances, a producer could make more money with a flop than he could with a hit. And so begins one of the most hilarious cons in musical theatre history. Max Bialystock used to be the king of Broadway, but after producing one too many flops, he’s now just a has-been forced into seducing little old ladies for money. After an off the cuff comment from his accountant Leo Bloom, dollar signs go off over his head (as well as “beautiful girls wearing nothing but pearls”). With the reluctant help from Bloom, Max goes in search of the worst musical ever. Will it be a flop? It better, or they might find themselves in prison.

The Producers is an uproariously funny musical with hilarious songs that will have you grinning from ear to ear throughout. Nobody does comedy like Mel Brooks, and nobody does shows like the Paramount. Don’t miss it. Seating is on the Main Floor.

This tour is designed to give you an in depth look at the second largest urban fire in US History. We will begin with a stop at Mrs. O’Leary's barn site, today the Chicago Fire Academy Museum. Be the first to see the world premiere of August Rush. Internationally acclaimed director John Doyle, who earned a Tony Award for Sweeney Todd and staged the Broadway revival of The Color Purple starring Jennifer Hudson, will direct this new live stage adaption of the critically acclaimed Warner Brothers film. Working closely with Paramount on this never-before-seen musical is Mark Mancina, the celebrated composer of the film’s platinum selling soundtrack, who continues as composer and co-lyricist for the new stage version of August Rush. Mancina arranged and produced many songs for The Lion King and contributed music to Disney’s hit film Moana. The creative team includes Emmy Award-winning book writer and co-lyricist Glen Berger, who co-wrote the book for Broadway’s SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark. Orchestrations and additional music are by Dave Metzger, who orchestrated the films August Rush, Training Day and Tarzan and received a Tony nomination for his work on Disney’s The Lion King.
